What is Time Management?
Time Management is the ability to plan out the available time you have in order to maximize productivity. If you can learn to control the amount of time you spend on specific tasks you will reach a new level of efficiency. Learning to manage time is a critical skill, as once it's gone - that's it! It's important for students, teachers and professionals to master this skill.
How do you Manage time?
You must have a system or process in place that works for you. The system will assist you to prioritize important tasks, eliminate those that are a waste of time and delegate those that you can. Listed below is one example of a tried and tested system that will help you get your workload under control.
The 4 D's of time management are a way to categorize and take action on tasks, whether they come to you in the form of emails, letters, or verbal instructions. They help you decide if the task presented is something you should Do now, Defer till later, Delegate to someone else, or Delete completely from your schedule.

Stephen Richards Covey was an American Educator, author, businessman and keynote speaker. He is most known for his popular book 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People'. His approach to time management is to focus on important things before they become urgent.
